The Ayahuasca experience

In 1997 I was living on 240 acres of forest land in southern Oregon. On this property there was a commercial building and I had permission to use a small part of it to fashion a tiny living space. There was no electricity or phone, but I did have propane and water. Another woman who was living on the property had a far less modern structure to live in and asked me if she could place her books in a small bookcase in my space. I had no problem with that. I thought I might even read them.

About a month later I was sitting in meditation thinking to myself I really needed to do something to open my heart chakra and experience myself as a more loving being. As I was thinking this one of the books on this lady’s bookshelf fell onto the floor. I ended my meditation and picked it up. On the back cover it talked about a man’s journey to open his heart, so I decided to read it. It was a book about Ayahuasca.

A few days later I saw my friend and told her I had read her book and I wanted to try this tea. She said no problem at all there is a group here in southern Oregon and I will introduce you. One week later I drank Ayahuasca for the first time.

Over the next 10 years I drank Ayahuasca in ceremony more than 500 times. In addition, I went to Brazil three times for a month or more each time and drank Ayahuasca about 45 times in these three trips. I also had a friend who brought a private supply of tea into my home, and we had dozens of private group ceremonies.

I would not consider myself an expert, but I do think I have an extensive base of knowledge and experience about this tea and the shamanic experience associated to it.

Overall, I think drinking Ayahuasca is very beneficial for the growth and of expansion of the individual human spirit. Ayahuasca amplifies and clarifies who you are. For most people this is good news they do not see themselves as the beautiful light beings that they are. They drink Ayahuasca and they experience themselves in a much more expanded and enlightened way. Their heart tends to open, and they experience the love of God, a connection to nature and expanded love for the people around them. For people that have a huge amount of hatred and rage they also experience an expanded amount of that which can be very uncomfortable. But overall, that is rare.

For people like myself who are already psychic drinking Ayahuasca is like drinking mystical rocket fuel. Everything just magnified 100 times I know many people believe that Ayahuasca is just a hallucinogen, but the fact is that is not accurate. I have always been able to see ghosts, angels, entities, demons, and many other things and when I drink Ayahuasca I see all the beings in the room and how intimately they are interacting with every person in the room. For me it was a tremendous education and aided my understanding how much of this psychic phenomenon affected the human experience. Ayahuasca also greatly enhances the ease in which you move from one dimension to another and the ease in which you can incorporate another being if you are so inclined.

I was in a Ayahuasca ceremony when I saw the Spirit of a panther move into the room and come over to me. Then it jumped into my body. And I went out of body and was standing there looking at this, thinking to myself having a panther in your body is very, very, different. Then the panther leapt out of my body, and I went back in. I then looked around and saw several people looking at me wide-eyed and somewhat alarmed. A few of them backed away when I walked near them. I am not sure what the whole thing looked like to them, but I guess it was a bit different.

The first time I drank Ayahuasca, I drank my cup walked back to my seat and was standing in front of it. Everyone was singing and voice said to me as clear as can be, “Little sister let me sing to you about the flowers. Do not listen to the music listen to the overtones.” Then I saw a musical scale 3 feet high shoot across the room. I could see the notes of the music we were singing and just above them weaving within the scale was a purple light. I put my attention on that beautiful purple light, and I begin to phase into the astral. The color, sound, and material objects were losing their energetic boundaries so that I was hearing some colors, seeing some sounds, and hearing sounds from some objects like chairs and lamps.

It would take hours to write everything I had seen in that first experience. I went the next day to my counselor and told him I really was not sure if I ever wanted to drink Ayahuasca again or I should drink it three or four more times. We discussed it and decided on the second choice.

In all the years I drank Ayahuasca I have never seen it harm anyone. There have definitely been some people who decided they did not like it but were not harmed by it.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

If you are considering drinking Ayahuasca I think a few notes of caution are appropriate.

First make sure you know what the ingredients are of the tea you are drinking. The best and safest Ayahuasca is made of only two plants. The first one is a jungle vine called Banisteriopsis cappi. This vine is what gives the tea its deep rust color. The second plant is the leaf of the Psychotria viridis. This plant is a member of the coffee family.

There are people out there producing Ayahuasca teas containing dangerous ingredients. One of these ingredients is Datura which is known to cause permanent brain damage in some cases with just one use. Also, there is some Ayahuasca which has Mace and Nutmeg in it because in high quantities these spices have a substance called Myristicin which is known to cause seizures, irregular heartbeat, and hallucinations.

An additional warning:

All Ayahuasca can cause imprinting. This is when the baby goose breaks out of its shell looks into the eyes of mommy and thinks you are the one, I love and belong with. All responsible shamans will tell you not to have sex or be intimate with anyone for several days after drinking Ayahuasca. This is for your own safety, so you do not imprint on them, and wind up divorced six months later. I was in one ceremony that had just ended, sitting with four women and a man walked up to us and said all the women here love me and want me. We all just started laughing. But this is example of what I am talking about.

I cannot imagine what my life would be without ever having the Ayahuasca experience. If you are a bit brave you might want to find out what you will learn from it. For me it was volumes of unwritten knowledge that cannot be found anywhere else.
